Saturday Comics class

An introduction to the art of comics and graphic novels. Over 10 weeks, we will explore the key stages of comic creation, from story conception to final execution. You will develop foundational skills in illustration and sequential art, covering storyboarding, visual research, character and background design, illustration styles, inking, colouring. You will complete your own short comic story and leave well-equipped to continue your journey in Comics!

Pencils - 4B/8B for sketching, HB/2B for layouts

Rubber

Black Marker pens for sketching

Waterproof Black Pens - Fine-liners/Nib Pens for precise inking (Micron, Uniball or Rotring)

Waterproof India Ink

Watercolour - or Ecoline/Dr Ph Martin Watercolours (decided on 1st session)

Brushes - for inking and colouring

Sketch Papers - A4/A3

220gsm A3 Papers - smooth surface

Digital Colouring (optional) - Procreate (tablet) / Photoshop (laptop)
