Friday Mixed Media Class

The class provides a stimulating learning environment for beginners to acquire the skills they need to draw and paint, and for experienced students to develop their own approach on individual projects. Each week you will be given a set-up, images, or a process to work with, and information about an aspect of art to focus upon. The subjects include still life, portraits, human figure, interiors, landscapes. You can also make abstract work if you wish.

MATERIALS

Basics - A5/A4 sketchbook, pencils (HB/B & 4B), sharpener, eraser, paper (cartridge, A3 pad or loose)

Pastels - affordable set e.g. Inscribe, pastel paper (A3 pad or 6 sheets e.g. Ingres by D-R), stomps

Watercolours - tubes (e.g. W&N Permanent Rose, Winsor Lemon & Indanthrene Blue 5 mL), brushes (small & medium, synthetic is ok), kitchen towel, watercolour paper (A3 pad or 6 sheets)

We also work with charcoal, ink & acrylics. You may use gouache or oils.
